The dominant Adelaide Strikers face a misfiring Hobart Hurricanes in match 17 of the 7th edition of the Big Bash League (BBL). It will be a home game for the Hurricanes and they will be pumped up to play in front of the home crowd. They are coming off a victory that they secured against the Sydney Thunder in a thriller at the Sydney Showground Stadium recently and their confidence will be sky high coming into this game.

The Strikers have blown away every team that has come their way so far and are the no. 2 in the points table at the moment with 6 points from 3 games. If they win this one, they will go top of the table and they will be keen to do that. Travis Head has been leading this young team well and it looks well equipped to reach the latter stages of the tournament.

Here’s what we, at CricTracker predict will be the final result-

Adelaide Strikers

The  Strikers look the stronger of the two sides, not just because of their current form, but also in terms of quality, they appear to be far more superior. They can definitely bat better than they have batted so far in the tournament, but with the ball, they have been devastating.

Rashid Khan has been talked about a lot and he is indeed delivering, but the Strikers’ bowling is working as a unit with everyone chipping in. While Stanlake has been doing the job with the new ball and at death, Peter Siddle and Ben Laughlin have kept the batters in check successfully in the middle overs and have allowed Travis Head to use Rashid as a striking option.

Predicted XI: Alex Carey (wk), Jake Weatherald, Travis Head (C), Collin Ingram, Jonathan Wells, Jake Lehmann, Michael Neser, Rashid Khan, Peter Siddle, Ben Laughlin, Billy Stanlake

Hobart Hurricanes

Hobart Hurricanes did win against the Thunder, but they will be tested big time against the Strikers. One of their most reputed overseas signings Tymal Mills hasn’t had any success at all in the tournament as he has struggled to use his variations to good effects and that’s something which would be bothering the think tank. Batting wise, they would be happy with the form of D’Arcy Short, but the other batters will have to compliment him too if the Hurricanes have to pose a challenge in front of the Strikers.

Predicted XI: Alex Doolan, D’Arcy Short, Matthew Wade (wk), Ben McDerott, Daniel Christian, George Bailey (C), Cameron Boyce, Clive Rose, Jofra Archer, Simon Milenko, Tymal Mills

We believe that the Adelaide Strikers will beat the Hobart Hurricanes in this game.
