BCCI pays Rs 2.2 crore to Mohammed Shami for missing IPL 2015

The IPL, which is often termed as the ‘cash-rich league,’ pays the players handsomely. Indian paceman Mohammed Shami has been paid a compensation of over Rs 2.2 crore in the month of June for having missed the IPL 2015 season due to a knee injury. Despite that, Mohammed Shami played in the World Cup last year. As per the BCCI’s June, 2016 payments of over Rs 25 lakh, available on bcci.tv Shami was paid a whopping amount of Rs 2,23,12,500 for “Loss of pay for IPL season 2015 due to injury.”
Mohammed Shami played through pain at World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. He picked up 17 wickets in five games and was also the fifth-best bowler in the competition. He also helped India to reach semi-finals.
The Bengal paceman had also recalled his injury during the Australia series in 2016. “To watch all the players play the IPL and you are sitting at home and watching on TV. That is one of the most difficult things to do for a player. Yet you have to realise that injuries are a fact of a sportsman’s life. You have to keep that in mind. It was tough, it is tough, and now I am just waiting to get back on to the field,” said Shami.
The India pace bowler is currently touring with team India in West Indies for their upcoming four-Test series, scheduled to start on July 21.

The other details put up by the BCCI are Indian umpires Anil Chaudhary, CK Nandan, C Shamshuddin went home richer by approximately INR 4 million (Rs 40 lakh) for officiating in the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League. Anil Chaudhary earned Rs 39,63, 762.00 (Rs 39.63 lakh).
CK Nandan and C Shamshuddin both of whom are a part of the ICC’s Emirates Panel, got Rs 40,83,876 (Rs 40.83 lakh) each for their duties this season. KN Ananthapadmanabhan received Rs 26.65 lakh approx) for his match official’s duties.
Former India pacer Javagal Srinath, who has been the ICC match referee since 2006, received in excess of Rs 26 lakh (Rs 26,42,508) for his duties as match referee.
