England all-rounder, Ben Stokes, has been forced from the field on the 3rd day, of the Test against Sri Lanka at Headingley. Stokes seems unlikely to bowl any more in this match.
The injury happened when he was bowling in Sri Lanka’s first innings. He was appearing to have jarred his left knee with the final delivery of his third over which was England’s first over after tea and the 16th over of the innings.

Stokes initially was adjusting his boot suggesting an ankle complaint, before it became clear he had a complaint at the knee that seemed to have developed as his front foot landed in his delivery stride.
Two balls into the next over, England’s medical staff visited Stokes but the all-rounder remained on the field, taking a painkiller and continued to bowl.
He continued with another four overs after tea, conceding 20 runs while Sri Lanka later crumbled to get all out for 91.

Stokes hasn’t participated in the England’s warm-up session before the start of the match and he was fielding in the slips. There were a lot of rumors saying that he won’t be able to bowl anymore in the match. After five days, he left the field and the England camp confirmed that Stokes is being treated for a jarred left knee.
Jordan Thompson was sent out as the substitute fielder in place of the uncapped Jake Ball, England’s official 12th man.
The injury is just at the wrong time for England, with them, just starting a long series against Sri Lanka, after which they are having a home series against Pakistan.
