Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor to unveil T20 World Cup trophies in Melbourne

She is the first Indian actress to be invited for the prestigious ceremony.

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is going to unveil the T20 World Cup trophies of both men and women in Melbourne, Australia on 1st November 2019. The women’s World T20 for 2020 will start on February 21 and while the men’s T20 World Cup will be played from October 18.

Kareena is one of the top actresses in India and is married to Saif Ali Khan, who is the son of legendary cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. She is the first Indian diva to be invited to the prestigious ceremony. The 39-year-old actress had played lead-role in some of the blockbuster movies like Jab We Met, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Satyagrah etc.

On this great moment, she recited that it is an honour to be a part of such a prestigious evening and also encouraged women across the globe in order to play more cricket for their countries. She was also delighted to see the progress of the female cricketers. She also talked about her late father-in-law, who was one of the greatest cricketers played for the Indian cricket team.

“I am honoured to be a part of this prestigious evening. I would like to encourage all these women out there who are playing for their respective countries to pursue their dreams. It’s truly empowering to see them stand tall on an international platform. They are an inspiration to one and all.”

“My late father-in-law (Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi) was one of the greatest cricketers who played for the Indian cricket team and it is an honour for me to be unveiling the trophy,” she said as quoted by Republic World.

Taking a note on her upcoming movies, she will be seen in Raj Mehta’s Good Newwz, alongside Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. Indian actress will also be starring in Karan Johar’s Takht and Homi Adajania’s Angrezi Medium. Not just this, Kareena will also be acting opposite to Aamir Khan in Lal Singh Chaddha, which is a Hindi remake of an American comedy-drama film directed by Robert Zemeckis back in 1994.
