The match will be a litmus test for the Comilla Victorians, who have already lost their first match. Further, the Chittagong Vikings, led by the veteran Misbah-ul-Haq, will have to find a strong footing in the tournament from the get-go as this time around, the competition has grown fiercer. It’ll be interesting to see how Misbah will marshal his young troops and how Nabi’s boys will harness their batting firepower to produce an effective result.

Chittagong Vikings

On a pitch where everybody’s opting for spin-heavy attacks, Chittagong Vikings will not look to do anything different. Proteas opener, Stiaan Van Zyl and Bangladesh’s batting mainstay, Soumya Sarkar can be expected to lead the charge, followed by the skipper, Misbah-ul-Haq at number 3. The middle order can be augmented by the likes of Anamul Haque, Jermaine Blackwood, Sikandar Raza and Jeevan Mendis.

Coming to the facet of bowling, young Taskin Ahmed along with Subhashis Roy will have to take the onus on themselves to provide his team with the crucial breakthroughs with their feisty pace attacks. The team has a robust array when it comes to spin bowling and can be expected to go ahead with the combination of Sikandar Raza, Jeevan Mendis, Suhrawadi Shuvo, and Sanjamul Islam.

Predicted XI: Stiaan Van Zyl, Soumya Sarkar, Misbah-ul-Haq (C), Anamul Haque (WK), Jermaine Blackwood, Sikandar Raza, Jeevan Mendis, Taskin Ahmed, Subashis Roy, Suhrawadi Shuvo, Sanjamul Islam

Comilla Victorians

Mohammad Nabi’s team will look to put in their maximum effort and bounce back from the crushing defeat they faced at the hands of Sylhet Sixers in their first game. Imrul Kayes and Liton Das can be expected to open the batting for their team, aided by Marlon Samuels, Jos Buttler, Alok Kapali, Dwayne Bravo and Nabi in the middle-order. The batting has to flourish more than it did in the previous match to give the Comilla Victorians a fighting chance.

The pace battery may consist of Al-Amin Hossain, Saifuddin, and Dwayne Bravo, followed by Nabi and Arafat Sunny in the spin attack. Rashid Khan, who bowled exquisitely in the first match, will have to up the ante for his team to emerge victorious.

Predicted XI: Imrul Kayes, Liton Das (wk), Marlon Samuels, Jos Buttler, Alok Kapali, Dwayne Bravo, Mohammad Nabi (C), Mohammad Saifuddin, Rashid Khan, Arafat Sunny, Al-Amin Hossain

The match prediction is for Chittagong Vikings to win the match and kick off their journey in style.
