The Dhaka Platoon are high on confidence after they beat the Rajshahi Royals by 74 runs in Mirpur. Placed third in the points table in the BPL 2019-20, Mashrafe Mortaza’s men are in with a chance of even claiming the top spot. Their next match is against the Khulna Tigers in the first of Friday’s doubleheader in Sylhet. If they win by a fair margin, then the Platoon may also top the points table.

The Tigers, on the other hand, are in decent enough form as well. Mushfiqur Rahim and Co have won back-to-back encounters versus Rangpur Rangers and Sylhet Thunder. They are now placed second in the table with 10 points from seven matches. The Tigers will be a little concerned since they haven’t been consistent enough against the teams in the top half of the points table.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch in Sylhet was a tad on the slower side in the day game. The spinners got the ball to grip on the surface to a large extent. But batting wasn’t all that tough. Mushfiqur has lent him good support with 216 runs at 54. Mehidy Hasan may not have gotten wickets, but the 87* he got last time would keep him in good stead. A lot will depend of Shahidul Islam, who is their leading wicket-taker with 12 wickets. Frylinck and Shafiul have also done well.
