The Ferozshah Kotla was lucky enough to witness the Kohli-AB show in full swing the other night. Chasing 182 runs for victory, both Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers put up a sensational 118 run partnership from just 64 balls. Both managed to take away the game from Delhi Daredevils.
While Virat Kohli scored a fantastic 70(40), it was AB De Villiers who was the star of the day with an exhilarating knock of 72(37) to steer RCB to a 5 wickets victory. Brendon McCullum who wasn’t a part of the playing XI also showed faith in the RCB team to create a turnaround.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore are in a tricky situation at the moment. In order to make it to the playoffs, they need to win all their remaining games alongside waiting for certain results to go their way. Brendon McCullum was optimistic about the same. He was also impressed with spinner Moeen Ali.
Here is what McCullum had to say
Here’s what he tweeted:- “Top win from our @RCBTweets boys last night. Never say never in the @IPL. We have to do it the hard way but why not…@MoeenAli I like your bowling Sir.”

Coming from Baz, it would certainly be pleasing for Moeen Ali. The off-spinner was exceptional with figures of 1/26 in his four-over quota. He got the important wicket of Rishabh Pant who was taking away the game from RCB at one point of time. However, he failed to do much with the bat yesterday getting out for 1.
Brendon McCullum didn’t have a great IPL this year. While he began well, his poor form led to his exclusion from the playing XI. On the other hand, Moeen Ali also allows them an extra bowler and the results have been a sublime example of the same. It would be interesting to see if RCB can pull off a miracle and qualify for the playoffs. Only time will say what’s in store for Kohli and his men.
