Australian white-ball skipper Aaron Finch has revealed his excitement over touring Pakistan after the schedule was recently revised and confirmed. This will be one of the historic series as Australia will be touring the subcontinent nation for the first time since 1998. Also, Pakistan Cricket Board have been working hard to make sure that the international cricket action is back in the country and the security concerns have been overcome as well.

Australia is coming off a thumping 4-0 win in the recent Ashes against England at home and they will be playing five T20 internationals against Sri Lanka before packing their bags for Pakistan. Finch last played in the T20 World Cup 2021 for Australia where he led the side to their first-ever title in the prestigious tournament under his captaincy. Meanwhile, Justin Langer has stepped down as the Australia coach and Andrew McDonald is set to take the role for the interim.

That’s one part of the world that’s been deprived of international cricket: Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch mentioned that Pakistan has been one country that has been lacking international action in terms of hosting and noted that he is eager to get to the country for the limited-overs series. He added that it would be unfair to leave out a specific country for touring and reckoned that Australia will be looking to bring the big names for the tour.

“As a player, I can’t wait to go to Pakistan for the white-ball leg,” Finch told Sportstar “That’s one part of the world that’s been deprived of (international) cricket for a long time now, and world cricket’s in a much better place when Pakistan’s thriving as a cricket nation,”

“I think we’ve to do everything to make sure the game is as sustainable as it can be all around the world. We are doing the game a disservice if we don’t do that. And as far as I’m aware, we will have a full-strength pool to pick the squad from.” he added

Australia is all set to arrive in Pakistan on the 27th of February. The tour will start in Rawalpindi with the opening Test to be played from 4-8 March while the four white-ball matches are to be played from 29 March to 5 April will be played at the same venue. Karachi and Lahore will be hosting the second and third Test in between.
