After four days, exactly at 7 PM IST, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma will walk out for a toss marking the beginning of the much-awaited 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). It has been a long wait not only for the players and the fans, but also for the analysts and commentators. The analysis of the teams have begun while some of the experts are also predicting the positions of the teams at the end of the league stage.

Former New Zealand cricketer Scott Styris did the same on Monday as he backed Delhi Capitals to end the first round on the top of the table. He also felt that the Rajasthan Royals will end at the eighth place while Styris also backed the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) to make it to the playoffs.

However, the Royals came across Scott Styris and decided to take a friendly dig at him. They responded to him stating that they are saving the tweet for now. In a way, the Royals have taken up the challenge of not finishing at the bottom of the table in IPL 2020.

Happy to be proved wrong, says Scott Styris

The banter didn’t stop here as Scott Styris also replied to their tweet while clarifying that he is happy to be proved wrong by the Royals. Interestingly, he also took a friendly dig at Ish Sodhi who has been appointed RR’s spin consultant for this season. Styris hilariously stated that he back them to do well only because Sodhi is in their camp.

Keeping the banter aside, the Rajasthan Royals look a balanced team this year. Steve Smith will continue to lead the side while Jofra Archer and Jos Buttler will play a crucial role for them as well. Apart from these players, they have experienced Robin Uthappa and one of the most sought youngster in the country, Yashasvi Jaiswal, in their line-up. It will be interesting to see how the team fares this year.
