In the finals against Pakistan, the Indian bowlers were going for a plenty of runs as the Pakistani batsmen made merry. But there was a certain Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the lineup who had only conceded 11 runs in his first 6 overs! He had shown a similar spectacle in the semis against Bangladesh as well. Bowling the 48th over, Bhuvneshwar ended up bowling 5 dot balls in the over to show his class with the ball.

He was effective with the new ball and with the old ball alike. Bhuvneshwar ended up as India’s leading wicket taker in the tournament and the sixth overall. He finished with 7 wickets to his name in 5 matches. He bowled with an economy rate of 4.63 – the second best among the top 10 leading wicket takers in the tournament (Imran Tahir’s 4.32 being the best).
