'Chief destroyer' Ishant Sharma makes his wife Pratima proud

India won the epic Test match versus Afghanistan at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore by a colossal margin of an innings and 262 runs. Ajinkya Rahane’s men were clinical in the match and completed the annihilation within a couple of days. The Indian bowlers were exceptional and bowled the inexperienced team out as many as twice in one day.

The spinners picked a chunk of the wickets, but the likes of Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav also had their roles to play. Ishant picked up 4 wickets in the match and didn’t flatter to deceive. He was able to keep a lid on the batsmen and never allowed them to dictate terms to him. In the first innings, he finished with impressive figures of 5-0-28-2.

The pacer castled Javed Ahmadi in the sixth over followed by a similar delivery to dismiss wicketkeeper-batsman Afsar Zazai. In the second innings, his numbers looked even more impressive. The Delhi-born speedster racked a spell of 7-0-17-2 and helped his team bundle the visitors out for a paltry 103. Meanwhile, he also became the third-highest Indian wicket-taker in Tests for India.

Ishant climbs the ladder

Ishant is currently standing at 237 wickets, third on the list after Kapil Dev and Zaheer Khan’s tally of 434 and 311 respectively. The feat has made Pratima Singh, the lanky pacer’s better half, very happy and she couldn’t hold herself back. Ishant tied the knots with the Women’s National Basketball player on December 9 a couple of days after Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech’s wedding.

Pratima took to Instagram and expressed her pride in her better-half. She wrote- “So proud of you !!! Before the match started the commentators predicted you to Abe the ‘chief destroyer’ and it was predicted right. You are now the third highest wicket-taker as a fast bowler in Indian cricket history. @ishant.sharma29”
