Chigumbura becomes 9th captain to dismissed hit wicket in ODIs: Elton Chigumbura joined an elite list during the 2nd ODI vs Pakistan at Harare as the Zimbabwe captain became only the 9th captain to be dismissed hit wicket in ODI Cricket.

Australia’s Allan Border was hit wicket on 2 occasions while leading his side, hence Chigumbura’s dismissal was 10th such occasion.

However, out of all the 10 instances, Chigumbura is only player to be dismissed after hit wicket after scoring fifty. Tatenda Taibu was the only other Zimbabwe captain to be dismissed hit wicket in ODIs. He got out against England in 2004 after scoring 40, which was the previous highest score for a captain who was dismissed hit wicket in ODIs.

Last time Pakistan dismissed an opposition captain hit wicket in ODI was way back in 1985 when Allan Border was dismissed hit wicket for 11 at MCG.
