Team India thumped the Windies sensationally in the second and final Test to pocket the series by 2-0. Both the matches ended on the third day itself and though the visitors put up a spirited show, the hosts proved to be too strong for them at home. The social media was abuzz with the Indian victory as the current and former cricketing greats wished the team. However, even the official Twitter handle of the political party Congress also congratulated them only to get trolled for a silly mistake.

They posted a picture of Team India celebrating the wicket during one of the innings and termed them as ‘Men in Blue’ in their congratulatory message. The fact that this was a Test series and Team India is called ‘Men in Blue’ only while playing the shorter formats left the social media gimmicks in splits as they trolled Congress hilariously in response.

While some of them made them aware of the difference in the formats, few also took a cheeky political dig at the political party.

Here’s the tweet:

What next for Team India?

The Indian team will now be involved in the five-match ODI series against the Caribbean side from October 21. The tour will conclude with the three T20 Internationals and Windies are expected to put up a much better fight in the limited-overs leg of the tour.

However, the stern test for the Virat Kohli and Co will begin in November when they are scheduled to travel to Australia for three T20Is, 4 Tests and three One-Day Internationals. More than anything, all eyes will be on the Test series as the Indian team has lost their recent England tour despite playing well. Also, this tour is an excellent chance for them to register their maiden Test series win in Australia who are struggling without their gun players in Steve Smith and David Warner.

Here’s how Congress party was trolled:
