Preview:

We are well and truly in the second half of the 2019 Caribbean Premier League and the two teams that are going to square-off against each other, couldn’t have come with more contrasting fortunes. Trinbago Knight Riders can do nothing wrong in this edition. They have won four out of their five fixtures with the last one ending in a nerve-jangling tie. Their opponents, on the other hand, are having a forgettable tournament thus far.

Apart from the solitary five-wicket win against Jamaica Tallawahs, they have proceeded to lose each of their four games and will have a herculean task at hand of addressing the slide against a side they have previously lost to in the tournament.

Last time these two sides met, half-centuries from Lendl Simmons [63 off 39 balls], Dinesh Ramdin [50 off 38 balls] powered by an unbeaten 26 by skipper Kieron Pollard guided the Knight Riders to a comfortable seven-wicket win.

Weather Condition/Report:

Rain is expected to play a major spoilsport in the game between St Lucia Zouks and Trinbago Knight Riders. As per the weather forecast, showers are expected for the entirety of the day. There are 70 percent chances of rain during the scheduled start of play [8:00 PM Local].

Pitch Condition/Report:

Only one game has been played at St Lucia in this edition of the Caribbean Premier League. In the game between the hosts and Barbados Tridents, the latter posted 6-172 after 20 overs. The pitch at St Lucia has been traditionally good for batting. In the last edition, we saw three scores in excess of 200 plus at the venue while the pacers also get some assistance, evident from the wicket-tally of the last game between the Tridents and the hosts.

Average first innings score: 137 (In 21 T20Is)

St Lucia Zouks: The return of Colin Ingram to the fold should release some pressure off the shoulders of Rahkeem Cornwall (157 runs in 5 games) and Andre Fletcher (96 runs in 5 games), who have done the bulk of the scoring for the fledgeling batting unit. The bowling will once again be led by Obed McCoy (9 wickets) and Fawad Ahmed (6 wickets).

Trinbago Knight Riders: For the Knight Riders, the trio of Lendl Simmons (261 runs in 5 games), Colin Munro (124 runs in 2 games) and Kieron Pollard (170 runs in 5 games) have spearheaded their batting in this tournament, and much of the same should be expected on Sunday.

Anderson Phillip claimed three wickets in an otherwise high-run scoring encounter against St Kitts. He, Ali Khan (3 wickets) and Kharry Pierre (3 wickets) will once again be crucial.
