Asia Cup 2022 ended on a high as the most deserving team, Srilanka won the trophy in Dubai beating Pakistan by 23 runs. A season full of ups and downs amazed the spectators. This tournament had it all, last over victories to one sided matches.
With teams coming in after high end bilateral series, expectations differed. While some players performed exceptionally well, hotshots missed out on the opportunity. Let's look at the top five disappointment of the season.

1. Babar Azam (PAK)
Babar Azam has been reigning as world's no.1 T20 batsman for more than six months. His form has been a perfect example of hard work and consistency. The Pakistan captain has been leading from the front since the T20 WC 2021.
Although, Asia Cup 2022 was not a tournament he would want to remember. Pakistan lost two consecutive games against the underdogs, Srilanka. The final as well was a total batting collapse for Pakistan under Azam's captaincy.
In the six matches he played, he accumulated only 68 runs. He struggled with an average of 11.3 and a strike rate of 107.9. He failed to add runs up the order in every match.
