While Rishabh Pant has been one of the most valuable players in Tests and One Day Internationals for India, things have not been the same as far as the shortest format is concerned as he often failed to make impact in this format.

Pant, who was given ar chance after a poor T20 World Cup in the New Zealand series, could not capitalise on the opportunities and finished with scores of 11 and 6. Therefore, the selectors must have decided to give him a break for the Sri Lanka T20I series and have instead included Sanju Samson for wicketkeeping duties.
