1. Odean Smith
Odean Smith created a buzz for his exploits in the 2021 season of the Caribbean Premier League. In the 11 matches the all-rounder played, he took 18 wickets and smashed 126 runs at a strike rate of 132.63. The Caribbean cricketer showcased his batting might in the international arena as well as he smashed 60 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 157.89 in two ODIs he played against India in February 2022.
Punjab Kings signed the destructive all-rounder at the Mega Auction 2022 for a whopping sum of INR 6 crore but Odean failed to deliver the goods with both bat and ball. The 25-year-old featured in six games for the Punjab franchise and could only manage 51 runs at a strike rate of 115.91. Though he took six wickets in those outings, the Jamaica-born conceded runs at an alarming rate of 11.87.
PBKS would have expected big things from Odean but following his dismal outings, the franchise could be inclined to trade him in the upcoming trading window. This would free up a huge sum which could to used to fill up gaps in the squad.
