Punjab Kings began the Indian Premier League 2024 season well with a win over Delhi Capitals in the first game of the season. This was followed by a miserable run of games where their familiar inconsistency came to the fore. The injury to their regular skipper Shikhar Dhawan did not help matters as the Punjab side began to flounder.
Sam Curran tried his best to bring his team back into the campaign with his inspirational captaincy. The biggest highlight of the season for the Punjab Kings was when they chased down the massive 261-run target against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.
This year players like Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma proved to be the finds of the season. Shashank Singh in particular played a few crucial knocks to help his team in the hunt and his match-winning knocks against Gujarat Titans and KKR will be remembered for a long time.

Here are the three players who were underutilized by Punjab Kings during IPL 2024 season:

Many experts questioned the logic behind the underutilization of Nathan Ellis as he could have been a huge player for Punjab Kings, especially in the death overs where they seemed to lack on many occasions.
