The Netherlands will face South Africa in the 40th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday November 6 at the Adelaide Oval. Scott Edwards & co. are coming off a morale-boosting win against Zimbabwe and would look to pose a tough challenge to the Proteas. Temba Bavuma & co., on the other hand, are coming into this encounter after suffering a defeat at the hands of Pakistan and it will be a must-win game for them to qualify for the semis.

The Dutch side has already been knocked out of the race for the semi-finals and thus, are expected to play with freedom. In the T20 extravaganza, the Netherlands have shown that they are no pushovers and on their day can give any side a run for their money. Thus, the fans might be in for an intriguing contest as the fearless Edwards & co. take on a formidable South African side.

Let us look at the probable playing XI of the Netherlands against the Proteas:

Openers - Stephan Myburgh and Max O'Dowd

Stephan Myburgh has been a proven performer for the Netherlands in the T20 circuit. He has featured in 44 games in the shortest format and scored 878 runs at a strike rate of 114.17. However, he has failed to light up the ongoing marquee tournament with his performances and only managed 14 runs in two games.  The veteran batter would look to make amends and put on a show with the bat against Bavuma & co.

Max O'Dowd has set the stage ablaze with his sensational performances in the global tournament down under. He has featured in seven games and aggregated 213 runs at a strike rate of 115.76. The 28-year-old was the chief architect of the win against Zimbabwe scoring 52 runs off 47 deliveries to help his team cross the line. He would look to carry his rich vein of form in the encounter on Sunday.
