Let us relive some of the greatest triumphs of the Bangla Tigers over the years:
Here are the ten best victories of Bangladesh in cricket history:
10. Bangladesh vs Pakistan, 1999 World Cup
Bangladesh entered their first-ever World Cup in 1999 and pulled off the biggest upset of the tournament as they trumped Pakistan in the 29th Match of the competition. After being put into bat, Aminul Islam & co. posted a competitive total of 223 runs on the board with Akram Khan (42 runs off 66 balls) top-scoring.
It needed a valiant bowling effort from the Bangla Tigers to stop the star-studded Pakistan batting line-up from reaching the target. Khaled Mahmud rose to the occasion and picked three wickets in his opening spell to leave the Men in Green reeling at 42 for 5.
Eventually, Pakistan were bundled out for mere 161 runs and Bangladesh won the game by 62 runs. It was the biggest win in Bangladesh cricket at that time as it was this epic win that triggered their growth and they became a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) the following year.
