3 players losing chances because MS Dhoni is still playing

MS Dhoni has yet to put in a match-winning performance for Chennai Super Kings in the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

1. Vijay Shankar

CSK management will need to figure out the ideal batting position for Vijay Shankar. There's no need to beat around the bush over here. Shankar is not a big hitter. He can be ideal in low-scoring encounters. The former Tamil Nadu captain can play the anchor's role, and he is also a good hitter of spin-bowling.

However, using him at No. 7 like they did in the last game against Punjab isn't ideal. Understandably, CSK wanted to give Dhoni more balls to face, and that is why they sent him to bat at No. 5. However if they continue with this ploy, then they should allow youngsters like Shaik Rasheed or even bring back Deepak Hooda, who has excelled in the finisher's role in the past.
