The Pakistan team made it to the final of the 2022 T20 World Cup only to lose to England at the iconic MCG. Despite not starting well, Shan Masood and Shadab Khan stepped up when the team needed them the most and while luck played its part, they grabbed the opportunity with both hands when it arose. The team led by Babar Azam is so talented that if they get a chance to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL), some of them are very much likely to go for millions.

However, Pakistan players have not been allowed to feature in the cash-rich league post the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Some of their legendary players including Shoaib Akhtar, Shoaib Malik, Sohail Tanveer and Mohammad Asif among others played in the inaugural IPL edition. But since then, the talented cricketers have been deprived of featuring in arguably the best T20 league in the world.

Here we bring you five current Pakistan players who might earn top bids in IPL if given a chance:

5. Mohammad Rizwan

Mohammad Rizwan made his T20 debut for Pakistan in 2015 against Bangladesh, but due to the presence of Sarfaraz Ahmed in the team for a long time, he couldn’t find a spot for himself. In the T20 World Cup 2021, he became a notable figure in international cricket by helping Pakistan beat arch-rivals India for the first time with a brilliant unbeaten knock of 79 off 55 deliveries. Apart from the bat, he also looked excellent with his keeping by hunting the wickets of Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli behind the wickets.

In the Pakistan Super League, he captains Multan Sultans and with his leadership skills, he won his team a title in 2021. Overall, he is the highest scorer for his team with 1596 runs in 36 games with a scintillating average of 55.03.

With these kinds of figures in international cricket and the domestic T20 league, it can be said that if Pakistani cricketers had been allowed in the IPL, Rizwan would’ve been one of the most sought-after cricketers at the auction due to his impressive figures and amazing batting and keeping potential.
