Spencer Johnson

Australian pacer Spencer Johnson failed to deliver for the Kolkata-based franchise last year, who had hoped for INR 2.80 crore in the auction. Seen as a like-for-like replacement for Mitchell Starc, who played an important role in KKR’s 2024 title-winning campaign, Johnson struggled to replicate the same impact.
The left-arm quick managed just one wicket in four matches, conceding runs at an economy of 11.73 before being sidelined due to a back injury. Previously, he had also taken only five wickets in nine games for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024. With KKR looking to balance their purse for the 2026 mini auction, the franchise is likely to release the Australian pacer.
