The batter who has established himself as one of the best players in the tournament is Virat Kohli, who is still the leading run scorer in the tournament. Though Kohli has not managed to take the RCB franchise all the way, he has still been an absolute run machine. He won the Orange Cap in 2016 and 2024 and is the only Indian batter to achieve the feat on multiple occasions. 2016 was his best season in the tournament, where he went on to score 973 runs, which is the most runs by a batter in a single season.

Virat is very much a part of the RCB franchise even today and is enjoying another great season with 614 runs at an average of 55.81. The Bengaluru franchise has also reached their fourth IPL final after beating the Punjab Kings in the finals. After retiring from T20Is and Tests, the Delhi-born continues to represent India in the One-Day Internationals (ODIs).
