1. Rohit Sharma

2022 was difficult for Rohit Sharma as he couldn’t meet the expectations of Indian fans as a batter and captain. After losing the Bangladesh series, he faced fierce criticism for his poor captaincy. This year, Indian supporters wanted him to begin 2023 in a decent way, and he did the same scoring 83 runs off 67 balls in the first ODI in Guwahati.

The Indian skipper exuded confidence in the match as his innings was studded with nine fours and three sixes. In the second ODI too, he made some start in the middle by scoring 17 runs off 21 deliveries. However, the 35-year-old will be tested in the forthcoming series against New Zealand.

Against the quality bowling attack of New Zealand, his responsibility will be to deliver great starts to the team. Playing 24 ODIs against the Black Caps, he has amassed 703 runs with a century and four fifties at a strike rate of 77.42. In the three-match ODI series, he will look forward to making his batting record better at home.
