3. Jaydev Unadkat
Apart from Ishant Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara on this list, left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat is another player to have made his Test debut before both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, but hasn’t yet announced retirement.
Unadkat made his Test debut in 2010 against South Africa but had to wait 12 years and two days for his next appearance. His long-awaited return came in 2023 against Bangladesh, where he picked up three wickets. Despite this comeback, he was not a consistent player in the Test side, with only four appearances and three wickets to his name.
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old's domestic records are impressive. With 447 wickets in 127 first-class matches, he continues to captain Saurashtra and has led them to Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare titles. In 2023, he registered his name in history with a hat-trick in the first over of a Ranji match. Unadkat also represents Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025 and continues his stint in England's county cricket with Sussex, having helped them to the Division Two title in 2024.
