At the 2022 mega auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) signed Romario Shepherd at a hefty price of INR 7.75 crore.  However, he couldn’t justify his price tag as he bagged only three wickets in three matches at a terrible economy of 10.89. Witnessing his horrendous bowling figures in the competition, SRH released the pacer before the mini-auction.

At the 2023 auction, the speedster went under the hammer with a base price of INR 50 lakh. Despite delivering below-par performances in the last edition, LSG purchased him at his base amount. So far, Shepherd has represented the West Indies in 23 T20I matches, in which he has taken 21 wickets at an economy of 10.51.

Going through his previous season’s performance and his international bowling numbers, the franchise could keep him away from their playing XI in the upcoming matches. He will face a fierce contest within the team from foreign pacers Mark Wood, Daniel sams, and Naveen-Ul-Haq to get a spot in the playing XI.
