Afghan medium-pacer Naveen-Ul-Haq bagged his maiden IPL contract from LSG at the mini auction in December 2022. The franchise signed him for INR 50 lakh to get his services in the forthcoming season. The 23-year-old has more than three years of international experience in T20Is for Afghanistan.

Appearing for Afghanistan in 22 T20I matches, he has grabbed 31 wickets at an economy of 7.87. In the T20 World Cup 2022, Naveen got only one game but the youngster didn’t miss a chance to showcase his bowling skills. In the contest against Australia, he hunted three batters in his four overs at an economy of 5.25.

However, the medium pacer might not get an opportunity to strengthen the bowling line-up of LSG as foreign pacers Mark Wood and Daniel Sams could be considered as more bankable options due to their past bowling displays.
