Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) did an outstanding job at the Indian Premier League mega auction 2022 to pick a well-rounded side with a nice blend of youth and experience. Faf du Plessis was appointed the new leader of the pack after Virat Kohli stepped down from the role. The Bangalore team played some excellent cricket but unfortunately, they faltered in the second qualifier against Rajasthan Royals and exited the competition.

With the mini-auction 2023 around the corner, the Bangalore think tank would look to refine the squad further. Thus, cricketers who have failed to deliver the goods for the side or do not fit into the team’s plans going forward can be released in the near future. Let us look at the players RCB might release ahead of the upcoming auction:

5. Luvnith Sisodia

RCB picked Luvnith Sisodia at this year’s mega auction to add a local flare to the side. The 22-year-old plays in the domestic circuit for Karnataka. He has shown potential but has failed to make it big for his state team. Moreover, he has a safe pair of hands behind the stumps.

The wicket-keeper batter had a golden chance to make it big in the lucrative T20 tournament. However, Sisodia got injured in the early stages of the competition and was ruled out for the whole season. Rajat Patidar was picked as his replacement and the Madhya Pradesh batter set the stage ablaze with his breathtaking performances.

Patidar amassed 333 runs in eight games at a staggering strike rate of 152.75 including a century for the ages in the Eliminator.

The 29-year-old has been simply sensational in the Indian domestic circuit of late and also received an international call-up for the recently culminated ODI series against South Africa at home. Due to Patidar’s meteoric rise, the Bangalore franchise might look to part ways with Sisodia ahead of the next auction.
