3. Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane has been a run-bank in the Indian Premier League. The 34-year-old has been part of the lucrative T20 tournament since its inception in 2008 and has accumulated 4074 runs in 158 games at a strike rate of 120.68, which includes two sensational centuries.

Kolkata Knight Riders acquired the services of the veteran batter at the 2022 mega auction to provide solidity to the top of the order. However, Rahane was not able to perform as per the team’s expectations and could only manage 133 runs in seven games at a strike rate of 103.91. Following his string of under-whelming performances, the KKR think tank did not retain the Indian batter for the upcoming season.

Rahane was a pale shadow of his classic self at the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022. He featured in eight games and could manage just 112 runs at a strike rate of 117.89. Given the Maharastra-born has struggled to find his groove in the T20 circuit, IPL franchises might not raise their paddle for him at the upcoming auction.
