The fourth week of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) saw 200+ scores getting scored on numerous occasions. The belter tracks added to the delight of the spectators. They were all amused with fours and sixes. Some batting performances were better than the rest. So, it's a hard task to hand-pick a few.
This list of top batting performances from week four comprises three foreigners and two Indians. Some of the batters got under the skin of bowling attacks on their days and made them pay heavily.
Among the top five batters from week four three are openers and the rest two came to bat in the middle order and changed the course of the matches. Special mentions to Vijay Shankar's 51* versus Kolkata Knight Riders, Abhishek Sharma's 67 versus Delhi Capitals, and Livingstone's 82* versus Mumbai Indians. They all had a tremendous run of play in the fourth week.
5. Suryakumar Yadav 66 vs Punjab Kings (Match 46)
Suryakumar Yadav was back to his daily business. He completed his unfinished job this time chasing another 200+ score against Punjab Kings in Mohali. Coming in as an Impact Player replacing Akash Madhwal, he was slotted to bat at four. By then, Ishan Kishan had given a blistering start but a lot of work needed to be done.
Suryakumar started off watchfully as Kishan was going well at the other end. He kept on taking singles and scoring boundaries here and there. Then in the thirteenth over, he went berserk after Sam Curran and that 23-run-over got MI back in the match. It eventually established the stage for the batters to follow.
Coming into this IPL, Suryakumar was going through a horrible run. But thankfully, after a few hits and misses now he's back among the runs. He has been the pillar of MI's batting in Rohit's ongoing lean patch. His high-flying shots getting cheered from the stands is a sight to behold. Suryakumar's match-winning performances are keeping MI’s playoff hopes alive.
