Rahul Tripathi was clearly a wrong move made by the Super Kings during the mega auction. Despite getting a chance to open and play in the top order, Tripathi failed to perform well in all the matches. In five matches, the cricketer scored 55 runs at an average of 11. He played alongside Rachin Ravindra in the first few matches before being dropped.

After that, he replaced Ruturaj Gaikwad at the No. 3 position, which didn’t work at all. Moreover, if we look at the stats, for a top-order batter, these are extremely disappointing. The management should look for a better opener or No. 3 batter, preferably a youngster who can provide strong starts in the powerplays.
