Right-arm pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has had limited international appearances since then. His last outing for India came in the third T20I against New Zealand in Napier, after which he hasn’t been selected again. Recently, he spoke about the uncertainty surrounding his international future, pointing out that selection decisions are out of his hands.

However, he's been active, leading the Lucknow Falcons in the UP T20 League and even switching IPL teams by joining RCB in IPL 2025.  Notably, he is the fourth-highest wicket-taker for India in the T20 format, and is considered among the most consistent bowlers for his accurate line and lengths. With a new set of fast bowlers coming in and selectors opting for younger players, Kumar's comeback to international scene looks far from reality.
