In the last 15 years, Bangladesh have displayed a stunning improvement in One Day Internationals with some important achievements against big teams. To make themselves competitive, they formed a huge pool of players that delivered some great results.

The record books also suggest how the team has matured over the years. To find a place among big teams in ODIs, they are striving hard and it is there for everyone to see.

While talking more about their development as an ODI side, it could be said that their bowling has played a massive role in helping them achieve the results that they have achieved. Their bowling attack played a key role in scripting their memorable win over the star-studded Pakistan side in the 1999 World Cup.

In the majority of their stunning wins against giant teams, their bowlers have been efficient and complemented their batters well.

Here are some majestic spells by Bangladesh bowlers in ODIs:

5. Khaled Mahmud’s 3-35 vs Pakistan, 1999 World Cup

Bangladesh made their World Cup debut in the 1999 World Cup and in the tournament, they defeated Pakistan by 62 runs in one of the games. Before the game, no one had expected the inexperienced Bangladesh team to shake the formidable Pakistan side which included batting maestros such as Saeed Anwar, Ijaz Ahmed, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Saleem Malik among others.

But in the game, it was Khaled Mahmud who did wonders with the ball for the Bangla Tigers by bagging three wickets and giving away just 31 runs. With his impressive bowling, he put pressure on Pakistan by dismissing big names such as Shahid Afridi, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Saleem Malik.

His wicket-taking bowling helped Bangladesh to fold their innings at the score of 161. His performance in the game helped Bangladesh to clinch a historic victory over the Men in Green and also made him the Player of the Match.
