The Indian Premier League fans witnessed an incredible auction that saw 405 players go under the hammer. Of the total participating names, only 80 were successful in finding buyers. Overseas players such as Sam Curran, Cameron Green, Ben Stokes, Nicholas Pooran, and Harry Brook dominated the event as they created the list of most expensive players to go at enormous prices.

Experienced players such as Kane Williamson, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, and Sikandar Raza emerged as steal deals at their base prices. Another side, a few foreign players faced disappointment too by going unsold in the event. Going through their status and records, it can be said that they deserved to get acquired. In the auction, the franchises ignored them, considering their impact and phenomenal figures too in T20Is.

Here are the five overseas players who didn’t find any buyers in the 2023 auction

5. Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan has been serving the England cricket team since 2013. Recently, his career graph has gone down as his performance hasn’t been up to the mark in the last few years. However, in the T20 World Cup 2022, the team management showed faith in him, and in return, he delivered to England with his impactful bowling display (3/43) against India in the semi-final.

In the IPL 2023 auction, he slotted in with a base price of INR 2 crore. But the speedster returned empty-handed as he didn't get any buyers at the event. Last month, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) parted ways with the England pacer after he delivered terrible bowling displays to the team in the previous season.

Appearing for the Men in Yellow in the 2022 edition of the cash-rich league, Jordan was able to bag only two wickets in four games, at a horrendous economy rate of 10.52. Talking about his overall IPL performance, the 34-year-old has featured in 28 IPL games and picked up only 27 wickets, with a dismal economy of 9.32.
