Virat Kohli scored when it mattered the most by scoring a vital half-century in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 second semifinal between India and England at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 10. Kohli held one end tightly on a pitch that was not only tough to bat on but also saw wickets falling regularly at the other end.

Meanwhile, it was Chris Jordan who accounted for the batting megastar after he scored his fourth half-century of the ongoing tournament. After getting the prized wicket of Kohli, the medium-pacer did heave a sigh of relief by folding his hands.

The incident happened on the final delivery of the 18th over with Kohli well set in the middle along with Hardik Pandya and the duo looked to add the finishing touch to the Indian innings.

Jordan attempted a wide yorker by bowling one outside the off stump. Virat tried to slash it to the off side, but unfortunately for him, the ball took the outside edge of his bat and went straight into the hands of Adil Rashid who completed an easy catch at short third.

As the batting icon walked back to the dugout, he was gutted with his shot selection while Jordan on the other hand first looked to celebrate aggressively but suddenly limited it to just folding his hands and looking at the heaven.

Kohli walked back after scoring 50 runs off 40 deliveries at a strike rate of 125 including four fours and a six. He along with Hardik Pandya added 61 runs for the fourth wicket stand after India were tottering at 75/3.

After Kohli’s dismissal, Hardik Pandya accelerated in the death overs and went on to score an impactful half-century off just 29 deliveries. He was out hit wicket on the final ball of the Indian innings for a well-made 63 runs off 33 balls. The duo’s half-centuries helped India in posting a competitive total of 168/6.
