1. 2008 versus Deccan Chargers (Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi)

Mishra took his first IPL hat-trick in the inaugural season in 2008. He was playing for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) against the Deccan Chargers at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi (now Arun Jaitley Stadium). In the first innings, the Daredevils posted 194/4, as Gautam Gambhir and Shikhar Dhawan starred to slam vital half-centuries.

In the second innings, Mishra finished with excellent figures of 5/17 in four overs to help the hosts win the match by 12 runs. During his spell, the Delhi-born bagged a hat-trick, dismissing Dwaraka Ravi Teja, Pragyan Ojha, and RP Singh off consecutive deliveries in the final over. This was his first of the three he took later in his storied career in the cash-rich tournament.

2. 2011 versus Punjab Kings (HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala)

Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) hosted Deccan Chargers at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on May 21, 2011. In the first innings, the visiting side amassed 198/2 in their 20 overs as Shikhar Dhawan and Dwaraka Ravi Teja smashed 95* and 60, respectively.

Apart from Adam Gilchrist, no other Punjab batter could live up to their potential in the run-chase. Amit Mishra finished with mind-boggling figures of 4/9 in his four-over spell. In the 16th over, he bagged a hat-trick, getting rid of Ryan McLaren, Mandeep Singh, and Ryan Harris. Punjab lost the match by 82 runs, and Mishra was given the Player of the Match award.
