4. Versus South Africa, 2014 (Won)
After a few forgettable outings in the T20 World Cups, India reached the semi-final after seven years in 2014. They faced South Africa in this closely fought contest. Batting first, the Proteas scored 172 runs in 20 overs, with captain Faf du Plessis top-scoring with 58 off 41 balls.
From India, Ravichandran Ashwin was the star of the show with the ball, who picked up three wickets, including that famous ball to Hashim Amla, which had cleaned him up. Chasing the moderate target, a young Virat Kohli showed everyone why he is the modern-day chase master. Virat remained unbeaten, scoring 71 runs off just 44 balls, guiding his team to victory.
