3. T20 World Cup 2016, vs West Indies (Lost)
It was a heartbreaking night for the hosts. The stage was set for them to qualify for the finals at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. But standing in their way was a West Indian challenge. Team India batted first, and it was once again a Virat Kohli show at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. He scored a historic knock of 89 runs in just 47 balls.
Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, too, played handy knocks, with the hosts setting up a total of 193 runs in their 20 overs. In reply, it was a clinical chase by the Windies, as they chased down the target with two balls to spare. Lendl Simmons played a knock of his lifetime, scoring 82 in just 51 balls. A dejected Virat Kohli is what everyone remembers from this match.
