Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal took to international cricket like a duck to water. He made his international debut in the Test format in the West Indies in 2023. The Mumbai batter slammed 171 off 387 balls in his maiden innings and orchestrated a massive win for the Indian team. He won the Player of the Match award for his stunning performance.
Yashasvi has played 19 Tests so far and scored 1798 runs at an astonishing average of 52.88. He has taken the bowlers to the cleaners on some occasions and also shown the ability to bat cautiously based on match situations. Yashasvi scored a memorable 161 off 297 balls in Perth in November 2024 against a formidable Australian bowling attack during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The left-handed batter has registered four centuries and 10 half-centuries in the red-ball cricket. The Bhadohi-born also has two double centuries at home against The Three Lions.
Yashasvi has also played 23 T20Is, scoring 723 runs at an average of 36.15 and a strike rate of 164.32. He was a part of the Indian team which won the Gold Medal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2023. The 23-year-old, however, has played only one game ODI. He might have to wait a little longer to become a regular feature in India's top-order in the 50-over format. The troika of Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli, who have been India's top-three batters in recent times, are expected to continue till the 2027 World Cup unless some drastic changes are incorporated. However, Yashasvi's sheer talent will keep the veterans on their toes.
