Cricket Australia announces squads for limited-overs series against India ‘A’ women
The tour will begin with One-Day series from December 12.

Australia ‘A’ women are scheduled to host One-Day and T20 matches for India ‘A’ women that will begin from December 12. Cricket Australia (CA) has announced the squads for the respective formats that will play against the subcontinent team. This tour is a part of a four-year agreement with India that has earlier seen Australia ‘A’ tour the sub-continent in December 2018.
India A and Australia A will play three One-Day matches in Brisbane followed by the same number of T20s in Gold Coast. Tahlia McGrath will lead the team in both the formats. Also, the selection panel has come out with different squads for two different formats.
Aussie women cricketers earn spots after impressive WBBL performances
The Australian selection panel seems to have picked the squad keeping players’ recent performances in the back of their mind. Most of the women cricketers, who have performed well in the WBBL 2019, have made into the side.
Phoebe Litchfield, the 16-year-old batter has got her maiden call up for the series. She had a dream debut for Sydney Thunder and had smashed her maiden fifty in her first game of WBBL. Bridget Patterson has also got her spot in both the squads because of her brilliant performances in the ongoing T20 league. She has amassed 238 runs in 10 games while playing for the Adelaide Strikers.
The right-handed medium-pacer Sammy Jo Johnson, who plays for Brisbane Heat, had a commendable season till now in WBBL 2019. She has scalped 16 wickets in 12 games and is currently the third leading wicket-taker of this season. Sammy along with Molly Strano remain successful in making their way into the squads. The selectors have also awarded Belinda Vakarewa, who is the leading wicket-taker in the WBBL with 18 wickets, with a place in both the squads.
