Cricket Australia names the best Test XI of 2018

The year 2018 came to an end, witnessing some enthralling Test matches all over the globe. With the year coming to a close, everyone is naming their most preferred eleven for all the formats. Cricket Australia, after their announcement of the eleven of the year from 50-over games, have made a proclamation of the eleven in the longest format of the game on their official website.
The elite group of eleven cricketers have been chosen based on how they’ve performed in different conditions, adaptability to situations, and inspiring the team. Without a doubt, two most impactful players in Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah from the Indian team has been selected. The Indian team also ended up as the number one Test team in the year.
The Indian captain finished with the highest run-getter in Tests in 2018, scoring 1322 runs at an average of 55.08 from 13 games. Jasprit Bumrah, the most dominating of the Indian fast-bowling trio ended up with 48 wickets. Cricket Australia named Tom Latham and Kusal Mendis to open the innings with Kane Williamson to bat at no. 3 and named as the skipper.

The lower-order composition
Windies skipper Jason Holder has been chosen for the all-rounder’s spot with Mohammad Abbas and Kagiso Rabada as the two other pacers to accompany Bumrah. Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon, who has been a standout performer in all the conditions will assume the role of the spinner. The 31-year old off-spinner has picked 47 wickets in 10 matches and has been the silver lining for an abysmal year for Australia.
