The year 2018 had everything to cheer about from a fan’s perspective. We a had an opportunity to witness a good number of matches in this year across the three formats of the game. Right from some exceptional performances with the bat to some quality spells with the ball, it a year with abundant excitement as well as entertainment on the field. In the year 2018, Afghanistan became one of the two teams to acquire Test status. The Afghanistan cricket team played their first Test match against India which commenced on 14th June. It proved to be a historic Test for Afghans as they fought with tooth and nail to reach this level. Besides, Ajinkya Rahane‘s kind gesture for the Afghanistan team made their maiden Test more memorable.

After having won the solitary Test by 262 runs, India’s stand-in captain Rahane requested the Afghan team to come up on the stage and pose for a photograph with the trophy together. It came down as one of the best Spirit of Cricket moments in the history of Test cricket. This very moment conquered the internet as the fans and the pundits all around the world acknowledged Ajinkya’s sweet gesture.
