Jonny Bairstow has been a significant player for the Englishmen. The Yorkshire-man has been an asset for the Englishmen with both the bat and the gloves. He is one of the very few batsmen to have made his mark in all the three formats of the game, with majors in ODI cricket. The year 2018 happened to be a prosperous year for England. And it was so for Bairstow as well who made his willow do all the talking.

The batsman has featured in 37 (22 ODIs, 11 Tests, and 4 T20Is) games for England in the year 2018. From those matches, he has notched-up 1701 runs at a decent average of 37.80. To add to it, he has also scored six centuries and four fifties in the calendar year 2018.

With a balanced record in all the three formats, he has excelled in ODIs in the year 2018. While scoring 1025 runs at an average of 46.59, he happens to be only one of the three players to score 1000 or more runs in ODIs this year. Hence, he will form an explosive opening pair with Rohit in this XI.
