Good night folks
That's all we have for you here. But we will be back for the match no. 21 on a Super Sunday, as India take on New Zealand at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
For now, this is me, Chirayu Jain, signing off. See you tomorrow. Stay tuned!!!
Here's what the men who matter said after the match
Who Said What
Aiden Markram, South Africa captain said:
Fantastic all-round performance. Couldn't have asked for a bigger effort. Very pleased with the effort. Slightly surprised. We'd have batted first. Happy it worked out that way. Was good that our big quicks weren't cooking in the heat. (On Hendricks) Really great knock, especially without warm-up. Experience helps. He's improved each and every day. (On Klaasen) Him at 5 and Miller at 6 is a destructive pair at the back end. He's come a long way. To showcase his abilities on a big stage is massive. (On Jansen) He's having a great comp. Lot of ability with the bat, his confidence will rise. Incredibly pleased for him. Great way to bounce back after the Netherlands loss. Markram tries to wish the Springboks all the best against England and Michael Atherton cuts him off with a laugh.
Jos Buttler, England captain said:
Incredibly disappointing. Come in with hopes of playing well but are beaten. Throughout the first innings, lots of things didn't go to plan. Topley got injured, it was a tough 50 overs. Thought if we'd restricted them in 340-350. Bowling first is potentially a mistake in incredibly tough conditions. Everyone put in a great shift. The humidity, cramps and all other challenges was tough. We needed to get off to a good start with bat. Ball did a bit, batters got down the leg side and stuff like that put the writing on the wall. The loss leaves with no room for error.
Heinrich Klaasen speaks
Heinrich Klaasen, POTM: It's up there with my best ever. The conditions were brutal. It's just proper heat, sapped out all the energy. Was told to not run my runs too hard, save energy cos the heat out is extreme. It was a two overs too early. England also looked under the pump. (Chat with Markram) But a couple of quick wickets brought them back in. The chat with Marco was the same and that's what happened. Jansen was next level, he kept me going and should get this award. His runs are so vital. Netherlands was a tough loss. One bad performance doesn't make us a bad team. We had some hard chats, boys bounced back with training sessions. Fantastic performance today.
Ooohh, that's cheeky!!!

POTM - No points for guessing
Heinrich Klaasen gets the Player of the Match award for his blitzkrieg with the bat. He seems happy with the victory and his contribution.
Match summary
South Africa - 399 for 7 - Heinrich Klaasen - 109 (67); Reece Topley 3/81
England - 170/9 - Mark Wood 43 (17); Gerald Coetzee 3/35
An all-round show by South Africans
With the bat, they were fantastic. With the ball, they were magical. In the field, they were acrobatic. All in all, a really worthy win for the Aiden Markram-led side.
Injured Reece Topley won't come out to bat
South Africa win by 229 runs, as England lose their 9th and final wicket for 170 runs.
Mark Wood departs, finallyyyyy!!!
And that will be curtains. Keshav Maharaj hammers the final nail in the coffin.
10/10 for efforts
Rassie van der Dussen makes a great effort to save a maximum, and HE DOES!!
Serious hitting by tailenders
Mark Wood has hit four balls of the 22nd over for 16 runs. He is into 40s now.
50-run stand comes up
Mark Wood and Gus Atkinson bring up the fifty partnership between them. And they've taken about five overs to get there.
Runs coming thick and fast for England
Maybe they're a bit too late, but 18 runs came off the 21st over. England are 151 for 8.
xD

Dropped!!!
Andile Phehlukwayo drops a skier. Tough to hold onto such catches. Atkinson gets a life.
The 20th match of the ongoing ODI Cricket World Cup will see South Africa facing off against defending champions England on Saturday, October 21 at the Wankhede Stadium in Maharashtra.
This World Cup has been brilliant so far, filled with unpredictable outcomes and upsets. Afghanistan shocked England, while the Netherlands defeated South Africa, setting the stage for an exciting match. Now both these title contenders, after being defeated in the last match, are set to face each other.
England suffered their second defeat of the tournament against Afghanistan, unable to handle their spin attack. Chasing a target of 285, England struggled and lost by 69 runs. The absence of Jofra Archer has left England searching for answers, and Jos Buttler's form has also been inconsistent.
On the other hand, South Africa faced the Netherlands in a rain-affected game. The Dutch set a target of 246 runs, and South Africa fell short by 38 runs. With opener Temba Bavuma struggling for form, it's a make-or-break moment for the Proteas.
England's batting has faltered in the tournament, with Bairstow and Malan struggling to provide a strong opening partnership. David Malan has been the standout performer with a century to his name, but the rest of the batting order needs to step up. Joe Root and the middle-order must find consistency to aid their campaign.
South Africa boasts a formidable batting lineup with Quinton de Kock in sensational form. Van der Dussen and Markram are also key figures to watch out for. With four centuries and 12 half-centuries in their last 24 games, South Africa's batting is their strength.

Both teams have concerns in their bowling departments. England's Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, and Chris Woakes have underperformed. South Africa will rely on Rabada and Jansen to lead their bowling attack, with the potential inclusion of Shamsi to exploit England's vulnerability to spin.
The Wankhede Stadium, known for its batting-friendly pitches, promises a thrilling match. The pitch tends to favour chasing teams, making the toss a critical factor.
