POTM Jos Buttler said:
"Keep believing, that was the real key today. I was struggling a bit for rhythm. At times you feel frustrated or you are questioning yourself. I tell myself it's okay, keep going, you'll get your rhythm back and try to stay calm. There's been plenty of times throughout the IPL, you've seen crazy things happen. Guys like Dhoni and Kohli, the way they still the end and keep believing and I tried to do the same. That's something Sanagakkara has told me a lot - there's always a breaking point. The worse thing you can do is to not fight and give your wicket away. He just tells me to stay there and at some point, the momentum will change. That's been a big part of my play over the last few years. (Greatest IPL innings?) I would think so. Very satisfying," Buttler said.
Winning skipper Sanju Samson said:
"Very happy with the win. We were wondering like the wickets we lost. Rovman hit a couple of sixes and that's when we felt like we were in the game. Some luck also, they also played really well. The quality of spin they had, they bowled really well. This ground suited them. Jos did what he does for us in the last 6-7 years, so happy for him. It (Jos's knock) should go right on top. Being an opener, if he gets in, no runs are unchaseable. He does something special," Samson said.
Losing skipper Shreyas Iyer said:
"(Was this game a bitter pill to swallow?) I would second that actually, emotions were a roller coaster, certainly didn’t think we will get into this situation. It’s a funny game at the end of the day, he was striking the ball cleanly and timing them so well, have to take it on the chin and move on. I mean at this point of time you see that you bowl your best deliveries, a little bit hit or miss and you are sent out of the ground, it’s good that it happened now rather than it happening in the later stages of the tournament, good learning for us. (On Sunil Narine) He is a great asset to the team and he is showing it every game, he is that kind of player who capitalizes on each and every moment. I'm glad that he is a part of our team. Since he was striking it so well, I thought let’s take pace off the ball and gave it to Chakaravarthy and it’s high pressure when you have five fielders inside the circle, you basically don’t have idea where to bowl. It’s just about relaxing and rejuvenating, it was very humid as well today. It's important to learn from our mistakes and bounce back. We have a few days break. At the end of the day, it was a great game, a few overs here and there but I’m really proud of the boys," Iyer said.
BUTTLER WINS IT FOR RAJASTHAN ROYALS
What a knock from Jos Buttler. He can barely run but wins it for Rajasthan Royals. They win by two wickets as KKR are disappointed. Shah Rukh Khan claps from the stand but the players look dejected.
CENTURY FOR BUTTLER
Buttler completed his half-century with a massive six. Second hundred of the season. RR need three to win but the party can start in the dressing room.
Nine runs needed to win
19 runs off Rana's over. This is incredible from Buttler. He is 98* as RR need nine runs to win in the final over. They are the clear favourites now.
18 runs off the over
Starc once again proved to be expensive. 18 runs off the over as RR are 196/8 after 18 overs. 28 runs needed to win in two overs. RR are in the hunt and seem to be the favourite.

Half-century for Jos Buttler
Courtesy of back-to-back boundaries, Jos Buttler completed his half-century at Eden Gardens. In 36 balls.
After a resounding victory over Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will next host Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Tuesday, April 16, at the iconic Eden Gardens. Both franchises have lost just one game so far in the ongoing IPL 2024 (Indian Premier League). While the visitors are placed on top of the league table, the hosts of the upcoming fixture are placed second. Given their form at the moment, a cracking game is expected as the winner of the match will sit on top of the table.
When it comes to the inaugural champions, their star opener Jos Buttler hit a century earlier in the season but didn’t contribute much in the rest of the matches. He missed the last match due to a niggle and is expected to make his return against KKR but that is not given. His opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal’s form is a bit concerning as well but Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag have done a commendable job so far.
Shimron Hetmyer, who has been given the role of a finisher, has been incredible as he played a massive part in helping RR win their last match against Punjab Kings. With the ball, Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal have been brilliant while there’s still no update on Nandre Burger’s return. In his absence, Kuldeep Sen has done a decent job.
Meanwhile, KKR have been equally incredible so far in the league. Phil Salt and Sunil Narine have been ruthless at the top of the order while Andre Russell has been sensational as a finisher. Angkrish Raghuvanshi has done a good job barring the last match while Shreyas Iyer’s form is a bit concerning. With the ball, Mitchell Starc has returned back to form as the Australia international picked up three wickets in the last match, while Vaibhav Arora and Narine have been incredible.
Probable Playing XI:
Kolkata Knight Riders - Philip Salt (wk), Sunil Narine, Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer (c), Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh, Mitchell Starc, Harshit Rana, Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakaravarthy
Rajasthan Royals - Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (wk/c), Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Tanush Kotian, Keshav Maharaj, Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, Kuldeep Sen, Yuzvendra Chahal
