Travis Head adjudged POTM:
"Nice to be back. Nice to be contributing. Nice to get the win, got very close there, was a hell of a game. I had only had a couple of hits (since returning from injury). Obviously had a six-7 weeks off. I think so (asked if it is just about getting the confidence back on return). Few blokes found it tough out there, keep pushing with the bat. We (him and Warner) play together really well. We complement each other really well, make sure we stay connected with each other and stay with each other," Head said.
Winning skipper Pat Cummins said:
"It was awesome. They just kept coming at us and it was a fantastic game of cricket. Travis has been away for 5 weeks, first hit back in the game and the kind of intent they (openers) showed, they led from the front. It was a good wicket and at times we probably gave too much width and some really good partnerships there. Fielding made a big difference. We got about 5-6 day break now, so we will enjoy this moment and get stuck in at the back end (of the tournament)," Cummins said.
Losing skipper Tom Latham said:
"Fantastic game of cricket, ebbed and flowed throughout the 100 overs. To come so close obviously hurts, but a fantastic game. They put us on the back foot straightaway and at that point and it was about containing them and keep taking wickets. He (Phillips) bowled well under pressure, to come and bowl 10 overs and pick up 3 wickets it was really crucial. Great to see the work he is putting in and it is paying off. The openers got us off to a fantastic start and Rachin played a fantastic knock, one of the better ones you will see chasing. It was a great effort and proud of the guys. It (Dharamsala) is a fantastic place to play cricket. Just want to say all the best All Blacks (New Zealand rugby team) can't wait to watch the final and hopefully they bring the World Cup home," Latham said.
James Neesham's 2019 tweet resurfaces after New Zealand's heart-breaking defeat
After losing the finals of the 2019 ODI World Cup, James Neesham tweeted by asking the kids not to take up sports as it can prove to be very cruel at times. Against Australia in Dharamshala on October 28, the all-rounder gave his all and hit 58 runs off 39 deliveries but couldn't help his team get over the line. Hence, his old tweet is resurfacing on the internet yet again.
Kids, don’t take up sport. Take up baking or something. Die at 60 really fat and happy.

Here's what Travis Head said after the first innings:
"Back playing (pleased me the most), nice to be back with the boys. nice to contribute, nice to be back. It (hand) is going well, went well today, we are on track which is nice. Very good wicket, Davey and I forged that partnership, we tried to put as much pressure as we can, we were able to get away today, take our chances and then also go on and make a really big partnership to set that platform. 388 is a really good score. I felt, at the back end of my innings, it started to take a little bit more spin. They bowled really well, changed their pace. The boys will come with their plans, hopefully we can execute them really well," Head said.

Australia playing XI:
David Warner, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Steven Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Inglis (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood
New Zealand playing XI:
Devon Conway, Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (wk/c), Glenn Phillips, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult
Here's what Pat Cummins said after toss:
“Looks like a good wicket, might be something in early. Travis Head comes in for Cam Green. They are a team we know really well, but they know us really well too. Excited to get going. Try and set up a big score,” Cummins said.
Here's what Tom Latham said after toss:
“We are going to bowl. Early start, reasonable surface, there may be something early with the new ball because of a day game. Jimmy Neesham is in for Mark Chapman who has a calf niggle. Adapting quickly will be key,” Latham mentioned.
TOSS TIME!
New Zealand won the toss and elected to field first.
PITCH REPORT:
It's nice and cool. Straight boundary - 79 metres, square - 70 metres and 64 metres respectively. England played here against Bangladesh. If you are a bowler, you are saying can we get more grass, you are not getting that today. There'll be something in the pitch early on, for a little period only. It looks good, it's hard, it's flat, a few cracks here and there. You won't get more spin than normal. In essence, good carry-through to the keeper, batters are gonna cash in after that initial period. Definitely bowl first.
GOOD MORNING FROM DHARAMSHALA!
Five-time champions Australia take on New Zealand at Dharamshala. Can Australia keep their winning streak alive or the Black Caps will be too hot to handle?
The trans-Tasman rivals - Australia and New Zealand square off in what promises to be a mouth-watering clash at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala in the ongoing ODI World Cup on Saturday, October 28.
After annihilating England, Netherlands, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan in their first four matches, New Zealand tasted defeat against India. However, the Blackcaps won't be too concerned as they have ticked many boxes during the campaign thus far. Regular captain Kane Williamson returned from a knee injury and played against Bangladesh. However, he fractured his thumb in a bizarre incident on the field and has been ruled out of action since then.
The other Kiwi batters have stepped up in Williamson's absence. Rachin Ravindra has come of age, scoring 290 runs in five matches at an average of 72.50. Daryl Mitchell has also been in sublime form with 268 runs under his belt at an average of 89.33. With the ball, Mitchell Santner has been a cut above the rest as he has scalped 12 wickets in five matches at an average of 16.92.
Australia had a forgettable start to their World Cup campaign in the marquee event as they lost to India and South Africa in their first two games. However, with a hat-trick of wins against Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and the Netherlands, the 'Men in Yellow' have turned things around in style. They have also received a huge boost as a fit-again Travis Head is expected to play against New Zealand.
David Warner is the leading run-getter for Australia so far in the tournament with 332 runs in five games at an average of 66.40. He scored centuries in the last couple of matches against Pakistan and the Netherlands. Adam Zampa is the top wicket-taker thus far in the tournament with 13 wickets in five matches. This is a very important game in the context of the tournament as a win for any team will consolidate their position in the top four.
