The five-time champions Mumbai Indians are all set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 18 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Notably, after a tremendous win over Kolkata Knight Riders, the visiting side will be beaming with confidence while the home side has managed to win their last two matches too and will be eager to put up a strong fight against the Rohit Sharma-led side.
Now, when it comes to Mumbai, players like Ishan Kishan and Suryaumar Yadav have returned back to form and that’s a massive boost for them going forward. Rohit too is very likely to make his return to the playing XI and thus, batting looks sorted at the moment.
When it comes to their bowling side, there’s a lot of room for improvement. The unavailability of Jofra Archer is bothering the team slightly as they lack experienced pacers in the middle. However, Piyush Chawla is in tremendous form at the moment and on a pitch, which traditionally supports the spinners, he can cause havoc.
Meanwhile, the home side will be very much relaxed. England international Harry Brook smacked a terrific century in the last match while Aiden Markram was at his meticulous best. "All in all we were not at our best tonight. Credit to the boys for taking it deep. We could have done with conceding fewer runs towards the end. It (the surface) stayed pretty much the same throughout the night, on the slower side, not bad at all. Whenever we took pace off the ball did not come on to the bat. We made a call (to bowl first) before the toss and if the dew came in then we were in the game. There was a desperation to make things right from the previous season. Not too bummed, there are areas we can improve on and we will look to do that to give us a good chance to win the next game," Markram said.
