POTM Mohammad Amir said:
"As a bowler, you have to adopt to the conditions. Was trying to hit the right areas. As a professional you have to be ready with any situation. I am clear with my plans with the new ball and old. I was bowling away swing and then thought this is the time to bring it in. Much needed win. One more win and who knows," Amir said.
Winning skipper Babar Azam said:
"Good for us. We needed this win. Credit to team. We started well and took wickets with the new ball. We had NRR on the back of the mind. The first six overs are very crucial here. You assess after 6 overs. Then we tried to take on the spinners. We are going to go with the same mindset. The conditions at Florida should be better from here as well. I got out to the same shot. So, I was angry. I still try my level best," Azam said.
Losing skipper Saad Bin Zafar said:
"Was a bit disappointing. The wicket was difficult to bat on. The Pakistani bowlers bowled well. We were about 25-30 short. We needed to get some early wickets. We don't get to play high calibre teams. Johnson played well. Kirton's run-out was crucial. Lot of positives to take from this game," Saad said.

With back-to-back losses, Pakistan are in an extremely tight situation in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. In their next match against Canada at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on June 11, the Babar Azam-led side cannot afford to lose and needs to win by a heavy margin to remain in the race for the Super 8. The challenge however wonβt be an easy one, especially when Pakistan batters have been average so far in the tournament.
Canada defeated Ireland by 12 runs in their last match and had a close encounter with USA earlier in the competition. Their bowlers have done a commendable job so far and on a slow surface at Nassau, they can be threatening. The batters however need to pull up their socks to challenge Pakistan. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf looked good against India and can prove to be dangerous against Canada as well.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan batters need to improve significantly. Skipper Babar Azam is yet to deliver while Usman Khan, Iftikhar Ahmad and Fakhar Zaman have looked ordinary so far. Unless they get back to form, it will be difficult for Pakistan to make it to the Super 8.
