St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKN) and Barbados Royals (BR) are yet to win a match in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League. They will be locking horns on Saturday, August 26 at Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts, in match 10 of the cash-rich league.
After their first two matches were foiled by rain, SKN suffered a heavy defeat against Jamaica Tallawahs by eight wickets with 21 balls to spare. In their most recent encounter against Guyana Amazon Warriors, SKN suffered another comprehensive defeat by 65 runs. Chasing a daunting 198-run target Evin Lewis' men were skittled out for 132 inside 17 overs.
Barbados Royals, on the other hand, had a disappointing start to the season as they lost to Saint Lucia Kings by 54 runs after conceding 201 in the first innings. Jason Holder was the only bright spot with the ball as he picked up a four-for. Nyeem Young also showed promise with the bat as he scored a fighting 48 off 39 balls but that knock could only help to reduce the margin of defeat. BR's most recent encounter against Jamaica Tallawahs was abandoned without a ball bowled.

Last season, the average first innings score at Warner Park was 155. This season, however, the pitch has played better in the first two matches with Guyana posting 197 in one game while Jamaica chased down 157 inside 17 overs in another game. Chasing could be the better option for the captain who wins the toss.

Probable Top Performers of SKN vs BR
Probable Best Batter of the Match
Evin Lewis – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots’ captain Evin Lewis will have to lead from the front as the room for slip-ups is marginal for his side. He has batted twice in CPL 2023 and scored 58 runs. He looked in majestic touch in the last game against Guyana as he scored a 24-ball 48 comprising one four and six sixes. The southpaw can single-handedly take the game away from the opposition on his day and Patriots' fans will hope he gets going against the Royals.
Probable Best Bowler of the Match
Jason Holder – Barbados Royals
The former West Indies captain has been in good form with the ball in recent times. He picked up a four-for against India in the recently-concluded T20I series and in Royals' first game, he was the only bowler who managed to restrict the Saint Lucia batters to an extent. Holder will have to use all his experience and guide the younger bowlers around him.
